Hola Madrid y IE!
Hola mi amigos! That will be the only spanish you will get out of me unless I am translating a word. I am not here to impress you with my spanish language skills nor am I here to woo you with fancy talk and romantic photos. I am on a mission and will simply blog my experience.
I am in Madrid because of IE Business School’s Master in Digital Marketing program. As one of the top business schools in the world (ranked #6) and now ranked # 3 in Europe, I’ve had my posterior beaten, chopped off and served to me! The school hosts a 13-month program with three face to face periods: 2 weeks in Madrid in March, 1 week in London, September and 2 weeks again in March the following year.

The face to face meetings consist of 14 classes. Yes! 14 classes which are piledrived into 10 1/2 hours per day (9am – 7:30pm). A 2 hour lunch is given but that time is utilized to prepare for the 4th in-class presentation your group might have to give on that particular day. And in order to stay on top of the material, at least 6 hours must be devoted after class time. Ladies and gentlemen, this is no SUNDAY AFTERNOON ON THE ISLAND OF LA GRANDE JATTE!
The classes are carried through an online period in which both individual and group participation are required via online community (specially put together for the digital experience).
However, regardless of what may seem impractical, the program is doable through hard work, dedication and passion. It is a gold mine for international networking among your peers and top-notched, celebrity status professors with unlimited contacts and experience. Being apart of this erudite intelligentsia for only a week, I’ve learned more than I have in my 4 years of undergrad at Penn State about myriad of cultures, professionalism and entrepreneurship. By the first day of classes, I knew that I’ve made the best investment of my life.
