Vodafone’s Club2020-PUSH or PULL?

Whether Club2020 is a PULL or PUSH strategy could be quite controversial.  Despite of what was mentioned in the presentation, what do you think?

It is easy to see that Clube2020 could be both a PUSH and a PULL strategy based on the fact that advertisers push advertising to the users after the users pull  (opt-in) for the information.

However, the correct answer is PUSH.  The concept is according to advertisers’ point of view and not in the point of view of the user.  The advertisers PUSH messages to the subscribers. Users must always initiate any conversation, that’s the best practice (opt-in). In addition, an opt-in process is NOT SPAM.

The key is in when the user initiated the conversation.
